Is the building accessible?
Partly, and we would rather say so than let you find out at the door. The lobby and the rear of the auditorium are step-free from the Main Street doors. The sloped floor down to the front rows is not, the balcony is reached only by stairs, and the restrooms are down eight steps. Call ahead and somebody will meet you at the door and hold the flat seats at the back.
How early should I get here?
Doors are thirty minutes before the show. On an ordinary weeknight ten minutes is plenty. On a Friday opening, or anything a school has been talking about, come at the doors.
Do I have to book?
No. There are six hundred seats and there is no online booking, which means there is also no booking fee. The only nights that sell out are the ones we announce as sold out on this page.
How long are the trailers?
About eight minutes. The time on the board is when the lights go down, not when the film starts, so if you want to be in your seat for the first frame you have until eight past.
Card or cash?
Both, at the window and at the counter. There is a cash machine two doors down if you would rather, and it charges you for the privilege.
Can I bring a five year old to the seven o'clock?
Yes, and plenty of people do. If it is their first film, the Sunday matinee is the kinder introduction: the house lights come up a little, it is quieter, and nobody minds a walk up the aisle.
Is it cold in there?
In August, yes, noticeably. Bring something with sleeves. In January the radiators are enthusiastic and you will want the opposite.
